I was actually inspired to write this journal to illustrate a debate within my mind and to garner the thoughts of so many talented individuals:
Is it harder to illustrate your own voice with a pencil?
I most admire and pursue "style", but is it a worthy/obtainable/obtained/other goal?
Is it about capturing the essence of the subject or one's self?
Is talent measured in proximity to reality?
It comes down to objectives and perfection in my mind...but these are thoughts, and reasonably only exist in anyone's mind. That's why I'm asking.
I didn't ask the question completely...fill in the blanks. Take it and make it your own. Isn't that the point?
Hasta...

Jessie still takes her twist with a shout
Unfortunately my work in progress will be a work in progress for some time...meaning months. I cannot be commited to art as I would like to be and I work slower than I anyone I've heard of. My most immediate concern is the development of a business plan. I want to own my own business, and the pursuit of that ambition has left me neglegent of my drawing. I would like to paint, and have had a picture in mind for years, but cannot afford the supplies at this point...or once again, the time (though I paint faster than I draw).
The kind question deserves more than an excuse, so I will post a photograph of my current drawing within the week. I only have lines on white and smudges in a corner, so I don't know if anything will be visible (I'm a crap photographer). It will look kind of silly, so small on the screen with such big excuses, but it's a glimpse at least and the most I can offer.
Thank you for the incentive to be more productive.
-Kelly
